Tony's trading is always my first port of call.
Sadly, he doesnt cover the story annuals.

Rover, skipper, hotspur annuals
Having recently come into a heap of old 1930's to 1950's annuals of all the story papers, I'm really struggling to find a source which dates them all and lists how many annuals there were in total.
None of the books are dated, which is annoying.
Does anyone have a nice dated gallery of the annuals ...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
For some reason I can't get into boys adventure comics (apart from the first couple of years of the New Eagle)
I very much enjoy reading all the lassies comics though!

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Picked up 15 Plug comics on Sunday for next to nothing.
Found 3 "Star - love stories in pictures" digests as well ( which means I now have 4 in my collection!!)
Also ended up with the first issue of "the crunch" which I don't really want if anyone's interested?

Got handed 8 Debbie comics and 9 Tracy comics from 1981 today.
Tracy was a new one on me - some decent strips in there!

Re: What comics did you buy today?
I have loads of comics with pieces missing - better to have a copy than not have one at all! (that's probably just me though).

Re: Some interesting observations about collecting
As a further example of the relative "sameness" of my comic finds, last weekend I found a huge stack of late eighties Beanos, Dandys, Topper and Beezer (absolute perfect condition!) - I had all the Beanos and Dandys already (87-89) - although I swapped a few over condition wise.
Very oddly I needed ...

Re: Some interesting observations about collecting
I have discovered that a Lot of charity shops (at least around here) chuck out any donated annuals if they have the slightest spine defect and don't accept comics at all!
A couple of shops are now nice enough to let me know if they have that kind of thing!

Some interesting observations about collecting
So I've been collecting comics and annuals seriously for a year and a half now.
I don't buy online (no fun there!) so my purchases are limited to car boots, charity shops, 'junk' shops and what people have brought to me (I have a shop as well)
I was just struck by how common some things are and ...
