I am sure the character appeared in one of the mid 1970s annuals. I dont have them to hand but the answer may lie there.

Please post the full strips that the first two panels shown came from. They both show Goo-Goo and may answer the question.

You'd have to check the ones before Baby Face went to the UK rather than after he went back to the USA - mid-70s annuals should have the answer somewhere.

i've looked through the few 1975 and 76 Beano's i have and only found him speaking once..and he called Baby-face my flat faced friend..but no other difference..
Parrot-face F repeated himself...himself..

That's enough to answer the question then. He can talk normally.

Doesn't really answer my question, unfortunately. And anyway, it's too late now as the strip has been sent off to the Beano. He talks now. One word.

It's OK, that was the right call, we know he wasn't mute at least. If he can say "My flat faced friend", he can say a single word for sure.

As a Yank with no easy Beano access, I can't see the new Rashers—but I know they're good from what everyone is saying. So let me join the choir... i loved Rasher's page in the 1980s and would love to have more full-page Rashers, on principle alone. Oinkyes! Oinkhey! Oinkoops!

^You can subscribe. It costs extra to ship to America, or you can go the digital route. You can get back issues by the same methods.

Thanks, Peter!
I'm reviving another classic character in mini-strip form in the new year.
