The complete set of 32 Rocket comics from 1956 for £116.50 including postage to repatriate them from the US (comics were actually £70). Very happy with the price of under £4 a comic to say the least. They look to be in very good condition as well. Just have to wait a few weeks for them to arrive

Was that the set Adam ('Books & Comics') mentioned here a while back? £200 was too steep for me but I'd have certainly offered £100.

Yesterday i picked up The Valiant Book of Sexton Blake for £2 in Deptford Market. The interior is good but the bottom of the cover is torn away. I've never come across it before so had to buy it. Does anyone here have a copy and could send me a colour photocopy of the cover so i could do a patch up job? I'll pay postage obviously.

Hi Phil, No it wasn't. I looked at that set as well and £100 would have been my max as the condition didn't look as good as I'd want. These were picked up in the US by a contact of mine on Ebay US.
Half a dozen of us got together via Ebay about 10 years ago and just keep an eye on our local Ebay for comics that the others collect. We're all in different parts of the world and only contact each other rarely, say twice a year but the best two deals I've had were (US, 5 years ago) 2000ad #1-20 with all gifts and in as close to NM condition as you could wish for just £80 including postage! The other was 40 x Star Wars #1s with free gifts from Canada for £200 including shipping. They were in Mint condition and I don't use Mint as a description very often. I just missed the 3 gifts from the first 3 2000ad comics that went for £180 in the US very recently due to me being an idiot and deliberating for too long.
I like the idea of repatriating the comics and gifts as well!

Finally completed my collection of TV21 this week by buying issue 2. It wasn't cheap but it's likely to be the last back issue I'll buy. I now have almost all the old comics I want, except for Wham! No.1 (just missed out on an auction for it this week) so it's time to stop I think. I'll still be buying new comics though as we need to support the UK industry of course.

Yes I copied an image from the comics UK gallery but it would take ages to get it the correct size.

Got the graphic novel of the Hobbit (the book, not the film) in a Dunfermline charity shop.
Also managed to get most of the collection of Spike comics. I got in with my bid with seconds to go. Didn't mean to. I'd just forgotten about the comics but happened to check my phone whilst out and found there was a few seconds left.

Annuals for sale at 4 for £1 in a local charity shop. Got the only 'action' one: the first 2000AD annual (I'd pay 25p for that!) and three humour (Beezer '82, Dennis '83 and Bash St Kids '84). Still a good few 80s Beano/Dandy in there.

Good price there! If I saw those humour annuals at that price I certainly would've bought them, unless I already had them (I do have a lot of the 80s ones).

Someone has rated the stories in the Beezer annual as 'Rubish' (sic) or 'Funny', plus put in various comments (such as pointing out 'A Bum' as someone ran away naked) and drawing in various noses etc.
Hilarious.
