Thanks Hawkeye. Yeah, I'll be honest. When I bought the comic recently totally forgot its significance. I only realised this when flicking through the pages to see the advert in question stating so. If you can recall, I wrongly stated issue #327 from 1948 was the first appearance of Biffo Bear when I was rightly corrected that Biffo appeared first in an advert before officially being revealed with fanfare to readers. Nice to own a bit of comic history, better still, a Christmas issue too..

It would be good to get #326 as well if you haven't already got it, with the Biffo masthead, sort of completes the set so to speak.

Funny you should mention it. I have seen a Beano #326 recently for sale in FN condition, although it is a little top-heavy when it comes to price. Nice cover too. Obviously it's not a Christmas issue being from January 1948 but does feature Big Eggo sliding down a snowy hillside on a sled and has a festive feel about it.

Recently have acquired 3 2024 annuals (Viz,Dandy,Dr Who);have started collecting a US mag based on a cartoon I watched as a kid,"Super Friends" 47 issues from late 70s to early 80s,have 34 so far.
Other than the above,more issues of "Bullet";"Star Wars-UK version";"Look -In";"Tv Comic".
Oh and some Alan Class.

Just had delivery of my Beano comic no.326 from January 10th 1948 in FN condition. It's the issue that features the last appearance of Big Eggo. Nice!

Bought myself two Scream Holiday Specials from 1987 & 1988 needed. And two Dandy comics issue no's 409 & 412 from 1949. Pics to follow asap.

BTW:In some ways Scream was a bit like the 80s' Action comic in that it rather upset parents !!
It didn't have quite the same fury against it,nor media attention but was found to be offensive and therefore remains highly collectable !!

Funny how certain comics cause controversay where others that have similar images of gore don't. The only comic that gave me nightmares was the 1982 Hammer Halls of Horror Winter Special #24 that had a strip featuring someone having their brain scooped out with a spoon.
