lovely images of comic in lovely condition, I'm curious as to whether you're trying to complete a particular run of Beano / Dandy - maybe everything before 1950? Thanks!

Good question Richard S. To be honest It's never really crossed my mind if the comics I've bought, and there's about 300+ so far, would complete a run. I'll have to check?

Two 1952 beanos today (nice condition)
And the beano book for 1958 and Dandy for 1953 (neither in very nice condition at all!)
Paid very little so I'm delighted!

Yeah, know what you mean. I find pre-war comics , well the ones I've got anyway , were magazine thick, and those later never really recovered from paper rationing, so much so, they were thinner than twiggy. Saying that, I suppose a lot of factors came into play. Paper itself, damage to infrastructure , cost to produce , available artists and so on. Until now I've never really thought about it. Hmmmm..... Interesting?

Also very nice!
Incidentally, I've noticed that (mine at least) the 1949 beano is a different size to the more or less a4 of other beanos.
Which got me looking for a list of all the different sizes beanos have been over the years - canny find anything.
Anyone have such a list?

Yeah, know what you mean Stevendoig. I wonder if anyone's compiled a detail list? Be interesting to know if any exists?
Coincidentally, I did once get bags and boards to fit those slimmer Beanos but for the life of me cannot remember where I bought them?
PS. Besides those 1949 Beanos listed today did buy some nice Christmas & New Year Dandy & Beano comics from the late 60s early 70s. When I have sone spare time will upload them.
